There has been some discussion and posts on making our own o-rings for the wheels. Has anyone tried using the o-rings from large military wheels and cutting them down? May be a little more expensive then buying the bulk material, but at least they may be of sufficient quality to use. They are readily available, and around $15-$20 each or so on eBay and other places, probably cheaper if someone scores a big surplus haul.

That's more of a repurpose than a reuse situation, but I like where your head is at. Certainly worth a look. And it may be cheaper than buying a roll of bulk material. Certainly worth a try especially if the diameter matches up. Update... I found the bulk material including the joiner kit was still more economical through McMaster-Carr.
